A Jasmine Sambac Flower & Buds Oils Distillation Plant is a specialized facility designed to extract aromatic oils from the flowers and buds of Jasminum sambac. Due to the delicate and heat-sensitive nature of jasmine’s aromatic compounds, traditional steam distillation is rarely used for this flower. Instead, the industry standard is solvent extraction, which produces Jasmine Sambac Absolute—a highly concentrated aromatic oil widely used in luxury perfumery, skincare, and aromatherapy.Key Features and Process:Harvesting: Jasmine Sambac flowers are hand-picked, typically at night when their fragrance is at its peak, to maximize oil quality.Extraction Method:Solvent Extraction: Fresh flowers are soaked in a food-grade solvent (such as hexane), which dissolves the aromatic compounds. The solvent is then evaporated, leaving behind a semi-solid substance called “concrete.” This concrete is washed with ethanol to dissolve the essential oil, and the ethanol is gently evaporated to yield Jasmine Sambac Absolute.Alternative Methods: Research has explored enzyme-assisted extraction, subcritical fluid extraction, and microwave-assisted hydrodistillation, but these are less common at industrial scale and mainly used in research or for specialty products.
