Description

A Lavandin Flower & Buds Oils Distillation Plant is a facility designed to extract essential oil from the flowers and buds of lavandin (Lavandula × intermedia), a hybrid of true lavender and spike lavender. The primary method used is steam distillation.Process Overview:Harvesting: Lavandin flowers and stems are harvested, often air-dried for a few days to preserve aromatic compounds and reduce moisture content.Loading the Still: The plant material is placed in a distillation vessel or still, typically made of stainless steel.Steam Generation: Water is boiled in a separate chamber or beneath the plant material. The resulting steam is passed through the lavandin flowers and buds.Oil Release: The heat and moisture from the steam cause the oil glands in the plant to rupture, releasing essential oil, which vaporizes and travels with the steam.Condensation: The steam and oil vapor mixture is directed into a condenser, where it cools and returns to a liquid state.Separation: The resulting liquid, containing both water (hydrosol) and essential oil, is collected in a separator. The essential oil, being less dense, floats on top and is siphoned off, while the hydrosol is drained from the bottom.
